ESports Awards, an annual event that brings together different accolades in the esports niche, has now agreed to prolong with EWC, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia-based multi-title esports tournament event, for another three years. This makes it that the 2024 Esports Awards will take place on The 24th, of August in all EWC in Riyadh.

When asked if the partnership could discourage some companies and individuals from attending or accepting awards, Ashford responded: “People have the right to have the rights to accept and represent their win in the way they would prefer it – We always have allowed for a video acceptance of an award ᅳ We will be planning to hold a second event as a part of esport awards Riyadh happening in Q4 of 2024.

The ceremony planned for 2024 will mark the first time that Esports Awards will be held in Saudi Arabia with voting on Award Finalists set for June 27th. Throughout the recent months, several well-known figures and organizations of the esports scene expressed their concerns over the directions the Esports Awards is taking. Addressing potential backlash, Ashford stated: “The Esports Awards as being the global platform for recognition has a rather crucial role and importance in the emerged ecosystem over the eight years of succession The biggest value and idea is to be as global and as encompassing as possible We now have our initial shot at positioning ourselves in the place where both the East and the West markets are equalized as a global hub for esports.

Ashford wrapped up the talk by quoting what the Saudi Esports Federation (SEF) had to say about this and pointed out that numerous other events held in the kingdom in the past successfully ended without any problems or questions raised.
